Genta was raised on Kaiyou Island, part of the Shimatsumi Archipelago in the far west sea of the Yokai World. Growing up on the island Genta had first hand experience seeing the hardships of both the dominant species on Kaiyou Island, the Primopians and Saurians and the tense relationship that both shared with eachother. After becoming king of Kaiyou Island he made it his goal to mend and strengthen the bonds between both species. Genta also trained under the previous Yokai King's Royal Guard, Raiju. Through his training Genta learned how to harness his natural Yokai Energy and eventually learn the Yokai-Tou fighting style.
